Easter family holidays on the Rhuys Peninsula

Easter break is just around the corner, bringing with it the desire for wide open spaces, fresh sea air, and family memories. This year, why not choose the Rhuys Peninsula in southern Morbihan as your spring destination? Nestled between the Gulf of Morbihan and the Atlantic Ocean, this corner of Brittany awakens in April. Here are our top picks for enjoying these school holidays with your family, from our hotel in Arzon.

Suscinio Castle: A Medieval Adventure for Everyone

The must-see attraction of the season is undoubtedly the Suscinio Estate in Sarzeau. On April 4th and 5th, the Spring Festival kicks off the market season at the Estate, with free access from 10 am to 1 pm in the Suscinio Castle meadows. Throughout the school holidays, special activities are offered for families: workshops, shows, fun trails, and even archaeological digs. A children's activity booklet is available at the ticket office for exploring the castle in a fun way, and admission is free for children under 10. It's a guarantee of an enchanting half-day for little knights and curious parents.

Walks, cycling, and coastal paths

Spring is the ideal season to discover or rediscover the peninsula in a different way than in summer. You can alternate exploring by bike with a walk on the coastal path, from the Lasné salt marshes to Le Passage, facing the Gulf. On foot or by bike, you can wander between the basins and salt pans of the salt marshes and, depending on the season, observe the salt workers at work, without leaving without a grain of salt! Our hotel is certified as a "Bike Friendly" establishment, so we can help you plan your routes from the port of Crouesty.

Islands, kayaking, and the first nautical outings

From April onwards, nautical activities resume. The ideal way to spend your Easter holiday is to combine a day on the Gulf of Morbihan by kayak or on a cruise boat with exploring the islands, such as Île aux Moines or Île d'Arz, accessible from Port-Navalo. A truly unique experience, suitable for all ages.

Seasonal Flavors: Local Gastronomy for the Family

Easter is also the perfect time for some delicious discoveries. For a family outing, head to the Suscinio Cheese Farm to watch the cows being milked and the cheese being made – a lively and fun experience that children will love. And why not take home a Tome de Rhuys cheese or a Gotchial, the peninsula's typical brioche, as an edible souvenir?
